Summary:ABSTRACT According to World Health Organization (WHO), about 21 million adolescents become pregnant worldwide, and twelve million give birth yearly in developing countries. In the case of children under 15 years of age, 777,000 cases of pregnancy. According to the WHO/UNICEF statement, about 3.7 million newborns die each year during the first four weeks of life, estimated for 2020. Most are born in developed countries and die at home. Up to two-thirds of these deaths could have been prevented if mothers and babies had been provided with medical and nursing interventions. The current research is titled: Nursing education to adolescent mothers on primary neonatal care. The researcher considered the activities performed by the nursing professional in the health units and the home visits to adolescent mothers after the doctor gave them the medical discharge. The research aims to write the nursing educational interventions in the primary care of newborns in adolescent mothers for the preservation of optimal health. There fore, the researcher reviewed 200 bibliographic sources from different databases. After applying the exclusion and inclusion criteria, 77 articles were obtained, 30 of which were used in the triangulation process. The researcher identified maternal risk factors that affect neonatal care to prevent morbimortality, the home care that the neonate should receive, and the education process that adolescent mothers should receive for adequate care. Keywords: Neonate, care, adolescent mothers, nursing education.
