Achoimre:The research work was developed in the Geriatric Hospital "Dr. Bolívar Arguello "from the Riobamba city with the objective of strengthening the pelvic floor musculature through Kegel´s exercises in older adults for helping management of the retention and gradual reduction of urine losses, it is possible improving the lifestyle of adults elderly who present this pathology. It was worked with a population of 20 geriatric patients, all female gender with a range between 63 to 80 years old, several factors that predispose to pelvic floor dysfunction were found, which is evident that 40% of the population presents obesity type II, 77% of the population have had normal births and 20% of the population have urinary tract infections, it causes urinary incontinence and therefore the decrease in muscle tone. In the initial phase through the application of the Modified Oxford Rating Scale, the following results was gotten: The 60% of the population presented grade II; which describes that the muscle tone is weak, weak pressure without flicker or muscle tremors. Finally, thanks to the execution of the Kegel´s exercises applied in three phases called: adaptation, flexibility and activation the objective was achieved improving the muscle tone also with a final evaluation which showed that 45% of the population presented grade III and 15% presented grade VI in the pelvic floor muscle tone.
