| 總結: | The media function as key channels to facilitate interaction between senders and receivers. Their dominant role in society is due to the considerable influence they exert in forming public opinión and representing various social groups. Within this framework, this study aimed to analyze the representation of social groups in Diario Regional Independiente Los Andes from January to June 2022. The research methodology is mixed; the type of research is descriptive and a nonexperimental design. The study population comprises 125 publications of Diario Regional Independiente Los Andes during the period above, from which a sample of 78 publications was selected. Content analysis was implemented as a technique for data collection, using an análisis matrix as an instrument. The results allowed us to identify six main groups: community groups, ethnic or indigenous groups, social movements, economic or business groups, gender and sexual diversity groups, and vulnerable or at-risk groups. Social movements had the most outstanding visibility, with 28 mentions. In contrast, the group with the lowest presence was community groups, with only three mentions. Social movements recorded a medium impact, given their relevance at the regional and national level, while economic groups reached a medium-high impact. Finally, it is concluded that in the Independent Regional Newspaper Los Andes publications between January and June 2022, there was greater attention to social movements, which indicates a connection with the contexts of protest and activism experienced during the national strike. However, other groups, such as community and gender groups, received les attention, suggesting an inequality in the media coverage of different social sectors. |
