Deskribapena
Gaia:This research details a geotechnical design procedure for a superficial foundation of a wind tower in a type D soil profile, a comparative analysis between soil property values obtained from laboratory reports and correlations by means of analytical equations that depend on the number of SPT blows, with which the unit weight, angle of internal friction, cohesion, modulus of elasticity and poisson's ratio were obtained. The loads that the structure supports were obtained by simplifying the tower as a cantilever beam, with the application of an extreme wind model, which allows the calculation of vertical loads due to its own weight, horizontal loads resulting from wind pressure that acts on the tower and bending moment originated by the latter. The geotechnical design consisted of minimizing the risk of failures considering the load capacity of the soil, overturning, sliding and settlement, varying the diameter of the foundation. Once the foundation was designed, a model was made in the SAP2000 software in which the subgrade modulus proposed by different authors are represented. In addition, a model of the soil stratum was made, which was used in the iterative method that describes its behavior. Once the settlements were obtained, the distribution of pressures that the structure transmits to the ground was calculated. In the end, both the pressure distribution and the settlement profiles obtained from the application of different subgrade modulus and the iterative method were compared
