Incidencia de Caries dental de acuerdo al índice cariados, perdidos y obturados en los niños de la Unidad Educativa “ANDOAS DEL SOCORRO” Parroquia Cubijes, Cantón Riobamba, Provincia de Chimborazo, periodo 2015- 2016

The purpose of the present research project is to determine the incidence of Caries according to the index of cavities of caries, teeth lost and dental fillings (CPO); in children of the Unidad Educativa "ANDOAS DEL SOCORRO" parish Cubijies, Riobamba Canton, Chimborazo province, assessing the level of knowledge that these children with regard to education and oral health, being a precursor condition to any preventive treatment. It is necessary to consider the process of formation of the tooth decay, as well as its structure, location and diagnosis more than this investigate about the causes and determinants for the occurrence of this pathology. For research the Descriptive, Inductive, Exploratory and Field method was used. For the implementation of this research in the first instance was a survey of eating habits, and the frequency of oral hygiene in each child, after that proceeded to the opening of medical records in a sample of 108 children from first to tenth of basic, aged between 5 and 16 years old, each medical record with their respective informed consent, confirmed by the parents of family , making this a thorough clinical examination intraoral examining each one of the dental pieces through a diagnostic equipment, (mirror, clamp, dental explorer ) thereby arrive at a certain rate (CPO). With these results we arrived no doubt some to the conclusion of them levels average existing between the amount of parts lost and dental fillings, while the percentage of caries that is recorded is high. This was accomplished according to the quantification of CPO and Caries established by the OMS. It is recommended training to children as to their parents, teachers and population in general, about a proper hygiene oral, habits food, frequent and early visit to the dentist; This project will serve us in the future for further research and data analysis.
