Resumo:ABSTRACT: The present research work allowed us to know how the teacher-student communication is carried out in Initial level II of the del Centro de Educación Inicial “Pekelandia” of the city of Riobamba, period 2020 - 2021. The gestural language was used in this interactive process and proposing it as a pedagogical tool to increase oral language development and amplify children's understanding. The general objective was to determine the importance of gestural language. It was field research because it was carried out at the scene of the events, and it was also bibliographic because written sources were used., The population consisted of fifteen boys and girls and two initial level teachers. The results obtained allowed to establish that the teachers have sufficient knowledge about the benefits of gestures and are capable of putting it into practice. It was also evidenced that there is an adequate level of understanding of the children when interpreting the messages, they receive from the teachers or by their peers and that the response that is generated and expressed by the children is consistent and maintains an active dialogue. The most relevant conclusion is that after observing the children and in each of the aspects that were evaluated almost in its entirety, the response is focused on the ALWAYS indicator, which warns that the child manages to clearly capture what his/her teacher communicates and he/she is able to express themselves through gestural language.
