| Özet: | Introduction. Osseodensification is a surgical technique based on the exploitation of bone elasticity, using a drill system specifically designed for controlled bone deformation (Densah-Versah), which obtains an implant bed without removing bone. Objective. To describe the osseodensification technique prior to dental implant placement. Methodology. This research was conducted through a thorough bibliographic review in scientific databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scielo, covering a period from 2018 to 2025 based on PRISMA, where articles with relevant information on the osseodensification technique were found. Results. The results indicate that osseodensification significantly increases the primary and secondary stability of the dental implant; furthermore, the osteotomy is perfectly cylindrical and densified, which maintains the entire bone volume. Conclusion. The advantage of osseodensification over other techniques is the preservation of alveolar bone. This is achieved thanks to the densifying drills, which, due to their design, autograft the reamed bone apically and laterally, gradually expanding the implant site while preserving the initial bone volume. |
