| Tóm tắt: | ABSTRACT: This research corresponds to the analysis of the influence of the socio-familial environment and the degree of knowledge and its associations regarding oral health in 7 educational units of the urban and rural sector of the city of Riobamba. This research was observational, descriptive and cross-sectional, and information was collected from 10 teachers, 100 students and parents. The technique used to obtain data was observation and survey, and the instruments used were the clinical history and the questionnaire. To obtain data regarding the CPOD-ceod and O'Leary index, the oral cavity of the students was checked using plaque disclosing liquid to obtain the latter. The results showed that 46% of the students had an acceptable level of bacterial plaque, 20% were questionable and the remaining 34% had a poor level of plaque. However, despite the presence of dental plaque, the CPOD and ceod index was encouraging with a low rate of dental caries (75%). Regarding statistical significance, an association was found only between the sector to which they belong and the socio-family status (p=0.00). Finally, it was possible to conclude that the oral health indicators were encouraging in most cases, and that the oral health status of the students is totally independent of the socio-familial level and the sector to which they belong. |
