| description | The objective of this research work is to analyze the levels of alcoholism and depression in students who attend the Directorate of University Welfare at the Technical University of Ambato. It has a non-experimental descriptive design and quantitative approach in which the levels of alcoholism and depression can be identified in students who attend at the University Welfare Directorate. The sample that corresponds to 39 students to whom the following psychological batteries were applied: the AUDIT test for alcoholism and the BECK test for depression, which were evaluated by the members of the University Welfare Directorate and have a reliability of the 90% on your results. Regarding the results obtained, it could be seen that 23% of those surveyed present a No Risk Consumption, 38.5% a dependence on alcoholism, while in depression obtains the following results 43.6% a mínimum of moderate depression and 0% a severe depression. From obtaining these results regarding alcohol consumption, a psychological intervention plan was proposed because the indicators are high in risky consumption and alcohol dependence. |

From obtaining these results regarding alcohol consumption, a psychological intervention plan was proposed because the indicators are high in risky consumption and alcohol dependence.RESUMEN: El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo, analizar los niveles de alcoholismo y depresión en los estudiantes que acuden a la Dirección de Bienestar Universitaria en la Universidad Técnica de Ambato. El mismo que tiene un diseño descriptivo no experimental y un enfoque cuantitativo, en el que se puede identificar los niveles de alcoholismo y de depresión en los estudiantes que acuden a la Dirección de Bienestar Universitario. La muestra que corresponde a 39 estudiantes, a quienes se les aplico las siguientes baterías psicológicas: el test de AUDIT para alcoholismo, y el test de BECK para depresión, los cuales fueron evaluados por los miembros de la Dirección de Bienestar Universitario y cuentan con una confiabilidad del 90% en sus resultados. En cuanto a los resultados obtenidos se pudo apreciar que un 23% de los encuestados presentan un No Consumo de Riesgo, un 38,5% un Consumo de Riesgo y un 38,5% una dependencia esto en cuanto al alcoholismo, mientras que en la depresión se obtuvo los siguientes resultados 43,6% un mínimo de depresión, 33,3% una leve depresión. 23,5% una depresión moderada y un 0% una severa depresión.
