| Özet: | The birth of a child with a disability represents a significant event within families, especially for parents, since they are the ones who assume the leading role in care, upbringing, resource management, and attention to the child's needs. It becomes a challenge due to the high demands and requirements associated with the various types of disabilities; these elements can negatively affect the parents' mental health. Therefore, this work aimed to analyze resilience and stressors in parents of children with disabilities, determine the main stressors they face in this parenting process, and identify the parents' levels of resilience. The research design was bibliographic and level descriptive, using the PRISMA methodology. To collect information, a search was conducted in high-impact databases such as Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science, with a publication range between 2014 and 2024. Using Boolean operators such as "AND" and "OR," article selection and exclusion criteria were applied. In addition, the CRF-QS (Critical Review Form – Quantitative Studies) instrument was used, yielding 22 articles on resilience and stress in parents of children with disabilities. Among the most relevant results, it was evident that parents have low levels of resilience, and the most significant stressors they face are the type of disability, severity of dependency, economic situation, and parent-child interaction. It is concluded that parents of children with disabilities represent a vulnerable population due to their high-stress burden. |
