Crynodeb:The Learning Management System (LMS) is online and in-person education software. This manuscript presents a comparative study of 45 LMSs to facilitate the decisionmaking of teachers when they are searching for the best learning platform for higher education. Additionally, it proposes a new methodology for the LMS’s evaluation based on software quality and teaching-learning tools for LMS termed SQTL. In Spanish, it is Métricas based on the quality of Software and teaching tools - learning to LMSs. The evaluation criteria that compose SQTL are interoperability, accessibility, communication tools, productivity tools, learning tools, and standards and security certification. Results show that 20 LMSs from the 45 reached equal or greater than 7 points, while three LMSs with many users, Cornerstone LMS, Google Classroom, and OpenEDX, scored under 7 points.
