Summary: | This work had as its objective to analyze the strengthening of the cultural identity through the oral tradition as a creative process in the students at Unidad Educativa 'Cicalpa. The elements such as language, clothing, technology, and family were identified through the compilation of manifestations of oral tradition such as proverbs, legends, music that favor the construction of the cultural identity in Sicalpa. The elements that build the cultural identity through the oral tradition were categorized to recognize the importance of the sense of belonging. The methodology was based on the qualitative approach with the ethnographic method, a non-experimental design, a descriptive, field, documentary, and bibliography type of research through documents and truthful and reliable information. The population was 14 students of Unidad Educativa Cicalpa, corresponding to eighth grade E.G.B., and 14 older adults of the Sicalpa Viejo Gerontological Day Care Center. The techniques for data collection were participant observation with the instrument of a field diary, interviews through focus groups with a guide of open questions, and a qualitative survey through a questionnaire, using the analysis and triangulation of data. The results show that the strengthening of cultural identity through oral tradition was based on the cultural elements and how they influence the construction of self, considering the context and the acceptance of who they are and where they come from. |
