Добавить метку | Итог: | Poverty has historically been one of the strongest problems faced by the provinces of Ecuador. In the case of Chimborazo, INEC 2021 figures ranked it as the third poorest province in the country and the poorest in the highlands. In this sense, this research has been developed in order to characterize the socioeconomic dynamics of the Sicalpa parish, through the analysis of the method of Unsatisfied Basic Needs (UBN) during the years 2000 to 2010. The research was of a mixed nature, obtaining the qualitative data through the execution of the techniques and instruments, i.e., surveys and interviews, while the quantitative data were obtained through the processing of the databases of the 2001 and 2010 population censuses. The conclusions of the research process were that the social dynamics of the Sicalpa parish correspond to those of a sector in which rurality, urbanity and the indigenous cosmovision are intermingled. Although there is coverage of services such as drinking water, the service is regular, the most used sanitation method is the latrine, the economic capacity of an economy dependent on agriculture is very low and the vast majority are beneficiaries of the Human Development Voucher (Bono de Desarrollo Humano). |
