Descripció
Sumari:Inguinal hernia (IH) is a surgical pathology prevalent in men, especially in older people, although it also affects young people of working age. Its treatment is surgical, and the techniques have evolved over time, with laparoscopy standing out for its advantages in terms of less invasiveness and shorter recovery times. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the diagnosis, the most commonly used surgical treatments, and the complications observed in young patients aged 18 to 29 years. IH is defined as the protrusion of abdominal contents through an orifice in the abdominal wall in the inguinal region. The treatment of inguinal hernia is performed using conventional or laparoscopic techniques, depending on the experience of the surgeon and the characteristics of the patient. The main objective of this research is to analyze the diagnosis, the most commonly used surgical techniques, and the complications observed in young patients with IH. Specific objectives include identifying the most common signs and symptoms, knowing the most commonly used surgical treatments. The methodology adopted is qualitative, based on a systematic review of the literature, analyzing clinical studies on the surgical management of IH in young patients, and comparing postoperative outcomes and complications between open and laparoscopic techniques. The results will be presented through tables and graphs, providing a detailed analysis of the effectiveness of the different surgical techniques and their impact on the quality of life of young patients. The conclusions underline that IH is a significant public health problem, which requires special attention in the young population. The aim is to contribute to the knowledge of the surgical treatment of IH, promoting evidence-based practices to improve surgical outcomes and quality of life of patients.
