La competitividad del sector comercial calzado en la ciudad de Guano, provincia Chimborazo.

ABSTRAC The present research work determines the level of commercial competitiveness of the footwear sector in the city of Guano, province of Chimborazo, making an approach to the main approaches to business competitiveness, and the socioeconomic characteristics of the owners of footwear businesses are also established. . Based on the methodology proposed by the International Development Bank (IDB), an instrument was applied to footwear sales establishments, registered with patents in the Decentralized Autonomous Government of Guano in the year 2022 and 2023, to which a survey was applied. Likert type composed of eight dimensions that outline the IDB methodology; To confirm the validity and internal coherence of the instrument, the Cronbach test was carried out in the STATA statistical program, the result of which allowed confirming the validity and internal coherence of the instrument, to subsequently calculate for each dimension an average value ranging from 1 to 5, where 1 represents very low competitiveness and 5 very high competitiveness. With this information, a simple general average of the averages obtained was made, thus resulting in the calculation of the general competitiveness index of the footwear sector of the city of Guano with a value of 4.0532. which represents a high level of competitiveness in the analyzed sector; For the success of the business and the sector, the correct application of management systems is recommended to increase efficiency over its competitors.
