Crynodeb:Unemployment is one of the issues that most interest governments since it is one of the elements that can drive or stop the economy. This research seeks to determine the factors that affect the persistence or not of unemployment levels in the CAN countries. A panel data model to achieve this objective was initially used to determine if macroeconomic shocks of the money supply, exports, and investment variables affect the unemployment rate. Subsequently, the Chiu unit root test was used, one of the main tools to determine if there is hysteresis (persistence) of unemployment in the countries. The results show that there is not enough statistical evidence of the influence of the variables money supply, exports, and investment on the unemployment rate; Similarly, the unit root test establishes that in the countries of the Andean Community of Nations, the hypothesis of hysteresis in not verified unemployment.
