Resumo:Introduction: Chronic kidney disease is defined as the presence of alterations in the structure or renal function for at least three months and with health implications. Objective: To determine the quality of life in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis. General Teaching Hospital of Riobamba March - September 2019. Material and methods: Descriptive, non-experimental cross-sectional study, with the purpose of determining the quality of life in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis treatment. The study was carried out in the Provincial Hospital of Riobamba in the period in the period March-September 2019. The processing was carried out in the SPSS program, for the analysis and interpretation of the information descriptive statistics were used. Results: A sample of 98 patients with chronic renal insufficiency was taken in hemodialysis treatment Riobamba Provincial Hospital March-September 2019 of which 62.2% are female, while 37.8% are male patients. Conclusions: Chronic renal insufficiency causes different modifications of physical nature and environmental conditions where they live, triggering social and psychological alterations, these being directly interrelated with the evaluation of patients' quality of life.
