| Izvleček: | The main objective of this investigation is to determine the mechanical and hydraulic properties of the pyroclast adsorption beds of Tungurahua and Chimborazo in the size of 950 microns for the improvement of drinking water in the community of Tamaute. There were conducted tests to measure the hydraulic conductivity K with three hydraulic loads of different heights: H1 = 1 cm, H2 = 11.2 cm and H3 = 22.2 cm. Physical, chemical and microbiological analyzes of the raw water and the water filtered by the beds were performed to be compared. We used previous thesis data that used pyroclasts from the same volcanoes retained in sieve No. 4, to compare those results with the results in this work. With the help of the software, Minitab we determine the range of data reliability and equations that describe the statistical relationship between time and conductivity. The density of the pyroclasts retained in the sieve Nº3 / 8 of Chimborazo affected between 0.674 and 0.736 and of Tungurahua between 0.816 and 0.845. The Hydraulic load H1 of Chimborazo is the most effective eliminating: color 85%, total hardness 45%, turbidity 95%, conductivity and total dissolved solids 2%. |
