Aggiungi Tag | Riassunto: | The purpose of this study is to identify the incidence of dental crowding in first, second and third semester students of the Dentistry course of the National University of Chimborazo. For this project medical files and intraoral examination were performed to observe the presence of dental pieces, we proceeded to make impressions to obtain study models to identify the incidence of dental crowding. With the study models, we performed the simplified Nance analysis, which consists of measuring the mesio-distal width of the mesial teeth to the first permanent molar, the sum of these indicates the amount of space required, then determine the actual length of the Arch with a bronze wire passing through the occlusal faces from the mesial side of the first permanent molar to the same point on the opposite side, thus obtaining the available space, the difference between available space and required space will show us the type of crowding. It was found that 96% (55) of the total sample presented dental crowding and classifying the crowding showed that 29.8% (17) presented slight crowding, 31.6% (18) presented a crowding of Moderate type, 35.1% (20) presented severe crowding and 3.5% (2) did not present dental crowding. |
