Description
Summary:Malaria is one of the main pathologies transmitted by vectors in the Amazonian region due to its warm-humid climate. This research analyzes the results that are obtained in a laboratory at Hospital General “Puyo” from August 2017 - August 2018. The main characteristics of Paludism were record such as frequency, infection, classification, including its description. For doing a correct analysis and process, biological samples were applied through Coarse Drop and Giemsa stain technique for its diagnosis. The research consisted of 1753 samples in total. They came from adults and children who requested medical assistance at the mentioned center. As a result, 55 samples were diagnosed positive. The investigation was descriptive since it analyzed the collection data from the laboratory files. Later on, data were interpreted by using an Excel statistical program. It can be concluded that Plasmodium vivax reaches the highest incidence in the region; additionally, it affects more males than females. Low socioeconomic and demographic aspects, like living in rural areas in the province, have a high influence to get infected.
