Тойм:Chronic noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) represent a major public health problem at the global and regional levels. In this context, intercultural health care emerges as a fundamental strategy to address health inequities affecting the most vulnerable population. This research aims to analyze the challenges of nursing in the development of intercultural practices for the care of individuals with NCDs, through the systematization of care for this type of patients. A descriptive documentary type study was conducted, with a quantitative approach. Scientific articles published between 2019 and 2024 were reviewed using databases, documents from national and international organizations. The analysis of scientific literature and practical experience allowed the identification of the following nursing challenges in the intercultural approach to NCDs: Linguistic and cultural barriers: Lack of language proficiency and lack of knowledge of patients' cultures hinder communication and understanding of the health care process. Lack of cultural competence: Nursing professionals do not always have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide interculturally sensitive health care. Inadequate academic training: Academic training in nursing does not usually include specific content on interculturality and health care for vulnerable populations. Poor institutional support: Health institutions do not always have the necessary resources and policies to promote intercultural health care. It is concluded that: The intercultural approach in NCDs presents significant challenges for nursing. It is necessary to strengthen the academic and continuing education of nursing professionals in intercultural competencies, as well as to promote institutional policies that favor interculturally sensitive health care. Research in intercultural nursing is fundamental to generate knowledge and evidence that contributes to improve the quality of health care for vulnerable populations.
