Summary:The main objective of this research was to analyze the family functionality and impulsive behavior in the taxi drivers from Cooperativa “Parque Industrial” in the Riobamba city. Therefore, chapter III described the methodological framework. This research has a quantitative purpose. It is a bibliographic and field-based research. Its design is transversal. It is of descriptive and correlational level. The sample was 63 taxi drivers. The family functioning perception test (FF - SIL) to determine the level of family functionality and the Plutchik impulsivity scale (EI) to identify the levels of impulsivity were used as instrument to research. Chapter IV detailed the result acquired after the application belong to dysfunctional and severely dysfunctional families while 85.7% are impulsive. Through the chi2 test, the score obtained a highly significant relationship is found between family functionality levels and impulsivity levels with (p<0.05). It means that, family dysfunctional and severely dysfunctional levels are associated with mild, moderate and severe levels of impulsivity between the study sample.
