| Achoimre: | The present researching work entitled "Efficiency in the removal of decay applying the conventional technique and the chemical-mechanical technique in patients of Alfonso Villagómez Román Pediatric Hospital of Riobamba, from October 2016 to March 2017", aims to evaluate the effectiveness of decay removal according to: the working time, the clinical characteristics of the cavity and the acceptance of the patient. It was worked with an intentional sample of 40 children aged 5 to 11 years. The methodology was cross-sectional and mixed type, carrying out a randomized design, each child serves as its own control, verification of decay removal was assessed using visual and tactile criteria. The results showed that the technique with greater acceptance was the chemical-mechanical technique with 52.5%, as opposed to the conventional technique with 47.5%, the conventional technique showed that there is a greater increase of the cavity compared to the chemical- The longer working time was observed in the chemical-mechanics with a time of 6.25 minutes and the conventional time with a working time of 5.29 minutes, the technique that had the greatest efficacy in the removal of decay was the conventional one with a efficiency of 0.78 in contrast to the chemical-mechanical one that presents an efficiency of 0.50. It was concluded that the best technique is the mechanical chemical, in both techniques there is an increase in the cavity and that the most effective is the conventional technique. |
