Rehabilitación del patrimonio tangible de la Empresa de Gerencia de Ferrocarriles, Parroquia Pistishi Cantón Alausi

Railway architecture, in many cases, can satisfy needs in terms of education, culture, health, recreation, and housing due to its ability to adapt various uses, its historical, architectural, testimonial value, and the quality of its construction elements. Its assessment is not only a nostalgic exercise because all patrimony if preserved its condition as such, must be kept alive and incorporated into the present's needs. The information collected, experiences and memories, and history of the site were essential to know the events, processes, and factors that influenced the formation of the Old S&C Railroad Administration, achieving a reconstruction of the past and knowing the influence of family, neighborhood, social, socioeconomic, cultural, in which they have lived. On the other hand, the progressive depopulation and aging of the municipality caused by climatic conditions and the lack of interest in the early rehabilitation of the place had a central problem the loss of heritage represented in the physical structure of the Old Directorate of the Railway Company. Taking into account that it is a strategic point in the area and the excellent heritage value it has, it also belongs to the country's railway history; the objective of the project is to recover the identity of the site and turn it into a potential tourist as a source of income for the population, thus contributing to the economic, social and cultural development of the parish, keeping its historical and memorial heritage alive.
