Opis
Sažetak:ABSTRACT This research aimed to investigate the hematological parameters for the diagnosis of anemia in schoolchildren and preschoolers using a literature review conducted in different scientific databases. The methodology was based on a qualitative, documentary, cross-sectional and retrospective approach with a population of 56 scientific articles from which a sample of 31 useful bibliographic sources related to the object of study was taken, information was also collected from websites (WHO/PAHO), repositories, books, digital manuals, and articles from databases such as Dialnet, ProQuest, Scielo, Redalyc, Pubmed, published in the last ten years to meet the criteria of timeliness and respond to the study problem. To collect the data there was applied an advanced search strategy in the same databases and web search engines, keywords were selected and the information was filtered with the last 10 years, Spanish and English language, and in the disciplines of medicine and health. The results showed that there are different hematological parameters used in the diagnosis of anemia, the most important was the determination of hemoglobin, hematocrit, erythrocyte indices such as mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), serum iron, and ferritin. Among the predominant factors for anemia in children, there were countless, but those most related to anemia were not breastfeeding, low weight/height, place of origin, and malnutrition. Keywords: hemoglobin, hematocrit, erythrocyte indices, serum iron, ferritin. Reviewed by: Reviewed by: Lic. Sofía Freire Carrillo ENGLISH PROFESSOR c.c. 0604257881
