Zusammenfassung:This research aims to analyze and know the importance of the relationship that exists between self-esteem and school learning of the boys and girls at First Year of Basic Education class “E” of the “Capitán Edmundo Chiriboga” Educational Unit. The study was proposed based on students’ self-esteem problems that were affecting their school learning. Theoretically, the project was based on the independent variable “self-esteem” and the dependent variable “learning”. Methodologically, the study is non-empirical, and diagnostic exploratory. The scientific procedure was applied through the Deductive and Inductive process over a population of 38 students coursing the First Year of Basic Education class "E" with a random and intentional sampling which is made up of 17 boys and 21 girls. The technique used was an observation sheet that allowed determining the relationship between self-esteem and the learning of the participating boys and girls. It is concluded that self-esteem does have a direct interaction with learning school. It is recommended to invigorate self-esteem with occupations in conjunction with the family and teachers to improve academic performance.
