Enfermería en la prevención de peritonitis en pacientes con diálisis peritoneal

ABSTRAC Peritonitis is one of the most frequent and potentially serious complications of peritoneal dialysis (PD), due to inflammation of the peritoneum, one of the main risk factors is the lack of knowledge for the management of the technique, thus increasing morbidity and mortality, consequently costs. additional and prolonged hospitalization. This bibliographic review aims to describe the nursing interventions in the primary prevention of peritonitis in PD patients, and presents a documentary study, carried out between the months of December 2021 and April 2022. A systematic review of documents published in different scientific supports at the national and universal level, disseminated in different databases, 135 documents obtained as a result of the search, of which, after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, there are 80 sources of information that make up the sample. Once the research completed, the main preventive nursing interventions for peritonitis aimed at the patient and family are highlighted, from adherence to nutritional treatment with a healthy diet and the pharmacological plan, a correct dialysis technique and emphasis on environmental hygiene, as well as monthly control.
