סיכום:The present research addressed the subject of Psychological Well-Being and Alcohol Consumption of the students of the "Riobamba" Educational Unit, and its objective was to determine the psychological well-being and its incidence in the decision to consume alcohol of the students of the second year of UGB of the "Riobamba" Educational Unit. Students' psychological well-being is essential for their emotional stability since it will prevent them from consuming alcohol as a means of satisfaction. Psychological wellbeing is considered the feeling good of a person either emotionally or physically, which will help him develop cognitively and socially development, having positive self-esteem to be valued and respected, finding an environment of balance and happiness. On the other hand, alcohol consumption is the ingestion of beverages containing any alcohol. The research approach was quantitative, and the design was non-experimental, the type of research by level or scope was correlational; by objective, it was essential, by field location; the type of study was transactional or cross-sectional; the sample was probabilistic and intentional, constituted by 150 students of the second year of UGB. The data collection instruments were the Carol Ryff psychological well-being test (Spanish adaptation) for the independent variable and the Audit test for the dependent variable. For checking the correlation, the SPSS statistical program was used for data analysis where it was found that between the variables psychological well-being and alcohol consumption. There is a moderate positive correlation of 0.49; therefore, it was determined that when the student presents adequate psychological well-being, his alcohol consumption decreases as a mechanism to feel good about himself.
