Zusammenfassung:This research was developed at the Faculty of Human Science and Technologies of the National University of Chimborazo with students of the fifth semester of Biology, Chemistry and Laboratory major, evidencing a limited application of Recreational Chemistry by students. The objective was to analyze the scientific foundations of recreational chemistry as a didactic strategy for skills development in the students of the fifth semester of this major. Recreational chemistry is important because it is closely related to work in a laboratory, where experiments are performed, checking laws that make chemistry science more understandable, and unifying theory with practice. The methodology used in the study was non-experimental, qualitative, descriptive, explanatory design. The population of 18 students from fifth semester of this major. To collect the information, the questionnaire of 10 multiple- choice questions was used as the survey technique and instrument. The main results were that 50% of the students surveyed stated that recreational chemistry will always contribute to skills development of future teachers, so it is concluded that recreational chemistry is very important for skills development in vocational training.
