Análisis del manejo de la información sobre “Caso Sobornos 2012-2016” en El Universo. Periodo enero-junio 2020.

In this research we analyze the informative treatment of the 2012-2016 Bribery Case, which involves the former president Rafael Correa in a corruption network which included the 2013 Alianza País illegal presidential campaigns financing. We took the information from the El Universo, media newspaper web page, period January to June 2020 to be analyzed. We found a total of 15 contents. We seek for theoretical sections, which support our topic, and starts from the macro to the micro by taking theories and basic concepts of communication. We applied qualitative and scientific research methods, as well as the analytical, descriptive and documentary type of research. We extracted the important data of our object of study using content analysis techniques with matrices designed for this purpose. In addition, a bank of questions was prepared and applied for the interviews with journalism professionals. We found that the journalistic genres used by the media were the chronicle and the informative note. Graphic aids such as photographs, captions, subtitles, video, and hyperlinks were identified, and give journalistic value to each of the analyzed information. Additionally, it was evidenced that the handling of the information is the same as in other issues of national interest and was therefore inserted into the agenda setting of the media. With the results obtained, we proceeded to make a radio serial as a communicational proposal, in which the informative treatment by the media is evidenced.
