Tag hinzufügen | Zusammenfassung: | The purpose of this research is to determine the potential of the Tsáchila culture as a tourist attraction in the canton of Santo Domingo to preserve cultural traditions and attract tourists. A mixed approach was used which comprises qualitative and quantitative research. Surveys were applied to the population and tourists, and interviews with authorities of the communities were conducted along with direct observation to ensure the accuracy of the data. The results revealed that the Tsachila cultural identity presents highly valued ceremonies, rituals, and festivities. However, a decrease in their practice was also identified. In conclusion, the Tsáhila cultural identity possesses tourist nuances that can be exploited through strategies of cultural promotion and community participation. |
