| Тойм: | : This research project seeks to establish how the printed media of the city of Riobamba provide informative treatment to cases of femicide and its impact on the public opinion of the inhabitants of the canton during the years 2016 - 2017. Since the media of printed communication reach all social strata and its mission is to keep the public informed of the daily occurrence, for this reason the importance of timely and accurate information dissemination. The investigation was based on the inductive-deductive method that allowed to analyze the journalistic notes of the print media of the city of Riobamba, and to determine if this information generates public opinion; the study population was 399 surveys and 4 interviewees, who provided indicators on the inhabitants' thinking and the criteria of the specialists. The results obtained were that 90% of the respondents state that femicide is very serious, according to what they know by the local print media, as well as 61% consider that the media captivates readers by publishing red reports in these cases , 86% think that the city's printouts do not report on this social problem. Finally, we propose the creation of a manual of communication strategies to improve the response of the print media in the treatment of violence against women, especially in femicide, to promote respect for these victims. |
