Описание
Итог:Allergic rhinitis is a condition caused by inflammation of the nasal mucosa, which IgE and inflammatory mediators mediate, caused by exposure to environmental allergens, affecting approximately 10% of the child population in Ecuador. The objective is to find updated bibliographic evidence on using inhaled corticosteroids for treating allergic rhinitis in pediatric patients. In order to carry out this research, a bibliographic review of articles was performed, and databases such as PubMed, Cochrane, Google Scholar, and ProQuest were consulted. Forty articles were selected in which it is stated that the use of inhaled corticosteroids is effective and well tolerated and even presents a prolonged action when the treatment has been interrupted, the adverse effects are minimal that can be produced by a bad administration of the medication causing nasal irritation and in some cases epistaxis. Considering the evidence, it is concluded that inhaled corticosteroids are effective and safe in treating allergic rhinitis in pediatric patients compared to other types of drugs, reducing the symptoms of allergic rhinitis and improving the quality of life of pediatric patients.
