| Sumario: | The research entitled "Socioeconomic description of the associativity processes at "El Arenal" market, Tumbaco, Quito city, 2019-2020 had as its primary objective to analyze the socioeconomic situation of the associativity processes through statistical data analysis. It helped to collect enough information to determine the market's main problems during the mentioned period. The investigation highlighted the natural context that the merchants were going through, contemplating the Covid-19 pandemic and the severe consequences generated by commercial life and each merchant's economic development. The current research highlighted the importance of carrying out socioeconomic analyzes in places where trade is the main economic activity; in this way, it is possible to analyze how specific contexts can affect the economic and social development of people, in the case of "Arenal" market, highlighting as the pandemic and other events that occurred during the period 2019-2020 affected the purchasing power of merchants since it reduced their income and had to regulate their expenses to the maximum. Concerning the market, it is necessary to highlight the structural failures and insecurity that limit the development of commercial dynamics within the market during the Covid-19 pandemic. The methodological approach in this study was mainly descriptive since associativity and socioeconomic condition processes were analyzed and identified from the analysis, interpretation, discussion, and tabulation of qualitative and quantitative data obtained through interviews and surveys applied to merchants at the "El Arenal" market. |
