La eficacia de la normativa jurídica ambiental ecuatoriana y la conservación de la biodiversidad en la provincia de Cotopaxi.

The research called: The effectiveness of Ecuadorian environmental legal regulations and the conservation of biodiversity in the province of Cotopaxi, covers the issues concerning the national environmental regulations and the province of Cotopaxi, the analysis of the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador, Organic Integral Penal Code, related regulations, Organic Environmental Code and the provincial environmental ordinances in Cotopaxi; the state of biodiversity in the province, environmental conservation in Cotopaxi National Park and the determination of the causes of contamination in the province; the effectiveness of Ecuadorian environmental legal regulations and of the province of Cotopaxi in terms of the evolution of the regulations and analysis of cases. Through the research carried out, it’s determined that the concern for the environment was born as a consequence of the economic growth that has led over time to an excessive consumption of nature affecting the conservation of biodiversity, which has made necessary the elaboration of environmental legal regulations to respect the rights of nature, as well as the reduction of environmental impacts by using clean environmental technologies and the ratification of international instruments. Thus, the effectiveness of environmental regulations has been observed according to the evolution of environmental conflicts, where the Ecuadorian State has the responsibility to protect the environment so that there is harmony between society and nature.
