| description | ABSTRACT The present research work had the purpose of determining the nursing interventions in patients with diabetic feet. It is a clinical alteration induced by maintained hyperglycemia, potentially devastating, that requires self-care to avoid complications; that is why the present study was based on Dorothea Orem's theory. Forty-five bibliographic sources from different databases were reviewed in which different aspects of the subject were addressed, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on the results, the requirements and therapeutic demands of self-care in the patient with diabetic foot. This patient should consider sensitivity, nutrition, physical activity, harmful habits, changes in the feet, self-esteem, orientation, knowledge, energy expenditure, detrimental effects, care, and affection. In addition, nursing diagnoses and interventions are proposed based on the types of Orem's systems: totally, partially, and non-compensating, which will guide nursing actions in the management of this pathology. Marcela González Robalino English Professor c.c. 0603017708RESUMEN El presente trabajo de investigación tuvo el propósito de determinar las intervenciones de enfermería en pacientes con pie diabético, que es una alteración clínica inducida por hiperglicemia mantenida, potencialmente devastadora que requiere del autocuidado para evitar complicaciones; es por ello que el presente estudio se basó en la teoría de Dorothea Orem. Se revisaron 45 fuentes bibliográficas de diferentes bases de datos en las que se abordaron diferentes aspectos al tema, aplicándose criterios de inclusión y exclusión. En base a los resultados se determinó que como requisitos y demandas terapéuticas de autocuidado en el paciente con pie diabético se debe considerar la sensibilidad, alimentación, actividad física, hábitos nocivos, cambios en los pies, autoestima las cuales tienen necesidades de orientación, conocimientos, gasto energético, efectos perjudiciales, cuidados y afecto.
