Summary:Guamote, an agricultural city situated in the heart of the Chimborazo province in Ecuador, is home to a population of 2,648 in its urban area and 42,505 in its rural area. Additionally, it boasts one of the most significant territorial extensions, being the second-largest canton in the province. This city holds a rich historical heritage embedded in its urban and cultural structure, facing challenges and unexplored opportunities. Its urban core incorporates natural and cultural elements that, when directed towards sustainable urban planning, can drive significant social and economic activities, positively impacting the quality of life for its residents. Revitalizing the Urban Center of Guamote requires the implementation of urban policies projecting medium and long-term management. Urban planning and city characterization are fundamental pillars for its urban and economic development. Therefore, the intervention of a masterplan is underway, analyzing urban events to establish strategic guidelines based on habitability, identity, autonomy, dynamism, community, and collective life.
