| সংক্ষিপ্ত: | This research project determines the incidence of Military Expenditure on the Economic Growth of Latin America, in the period between 1997 and 2017, using co-integration and causality tests. Although the results reported in this work do not reveal a uniformity among the 15 countries studied, the apparent prevalence of the direction of causality from economic growth to military spending, as well as the absence of the reverse causal order, may be an indication. that a significant number of Latin American governments do not make defense spending policy decisions based on the state of their economy. Finally, using an Error Correction Vectors (VEC) model, it was shown that military spending does not influence economic growth. The structure of the investigation is established by chapters. The first chapter is made up of the introduction and identification of the problematic research base, and the objectives set. The second chapter is made up of the state of the art, the research methodology and design, the application of the model with panel data. Finally, the third chapter covers the analysis, interpretation and discussion of the results obtained. |
