Valor predictivo de las pruebas de coagulación en el diagnóstico oportuno de tromboembolismo por COVID- 19.

ABSTRACT: The investigation of the coagulation profile and thromboembolism in patients with COVID-19 was a bibliographic review of literature in articles from different scientific bases on SARS-CoV2, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, and the complications that it brings after its infection. The objective was to highlight the predictive value of coagulation tests in the timely diagnosis of thromboembolism due to COVID-19. The methodology was based on a descriptive documentary study, presented a chronological sequence, cross-sectional, retrospective where information was consulted through scientific bases such as Scopus, Pubmed, Scielo, ScienceDirect, Medigraphic, and ProQuest, the population was made up of 161 bibliographies, only 104 were taken according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The main results obtained in this bibliographic review highlighted that there was a significant correlation between the determination of the activated partial thromboplastin time, D-dimer, fibrinogen and its relationship with specific comorbidities that were of great help in informing that COVID- 19 is related to a significant risk of presenting thrombotic complications causing morbidity and mortality. It is concluded that the measurement of coagulation biomarkers helps in timely diagnosis since they have proven to be helpful for the early detection of thromboembolic events in patients with severe COVID-19 and have shown that significantly elevated levels are the cause of preventable death in especially hospitalized patients.
