Gaia:The objective of this thesis is to design a preventive maintenance management system for the extrusion process in INDUCUERDAS, based on the analysis of the criticality of the extrusion line equipment. This system seeks to optimize the availability of the equipment and reduce the risks of unexpected stoppages that affect productivity. Based on the criticality analysis, a preventive maintenance plan was designed that integrates both manufacturers recommendations and practices based on the experience of the companys technical personnel. In addition, maintenance routines were established to reduce the probability of failures and improve operational reliability. The proposed design includes the implementation of a criticality monitoring system, which facilitates the prioritization of equipment according to its impact on production. The capacity of the technical maintenance area was also evaluated, identifying the need for specific training and capacity building, especially by equipment manufacturers. In particular, the importance of having trained personnel to cover the night shift was highlighted, which would significantly reduce the risk of disabling the line and ensure proper handling of the equipment. The economic analysis of the project shows an expected profit of $39,478 and a return on investment (ROI) of 2.74, reflecting the economic viability of the proposed system. In addition, the formats for preventive maintenance activities were established and the availability of the necessary spare parts to deal with the most recurrent failures was guaranteed, which contributes to greater operating efficiency. In conclusion, the design of a preventive maintenance management system based on the criticality of the equipment allows improving the availability of the extrusion line, reducing unscheduled shutdowns and optimizing human and material resources, which translates into a significant increase in productivity and profitability for the company INDUCUERDAS.
