總結: | Invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue is a malignant neoplasm that mainly affects middle-aged men and is characterized by the presence of ulcers, persistent pain, changes in the texture of the tongue, difficulty chewing or swallowing, and other symptoms in the oral cavity. Risk factors such as tobacco and alcohol consumption, chronic inflammation, oral microbiome and diet have been associated with the development of this disease. Objective: To determine the signs and symptoms manifested in the oral cavity due to squamous cell carcinoma. Materials and method: The keywords were searched in the following scientific databases: PubMed, Scielo and LILACS. Results: After searching 65 articles were reviewed according to the established criteria and the results were obtained through 10 articles to identify the signs and symptoms manifested in the oral cavity due to squamous cell carcinoma Conclusion: It is essential to pay attention to the signs and symptoms mentioned above, as well as to carry out periodic check-ups with a health professional to detect possible cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma early. In addition, further research is needed to improve the treatment and quality of life of affected patients. Prevention through the reduction of risk factors such as tobacco and alcohol consumption is also fundamental for oral health. |
