Zusammenfassung:Dental crowns help damaged or missing teeth recover their shape, function, and appearance. Zirconia crowns have a more natural appearance and are used for making prostheses and crowns on implants, while porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns are more resistant to fractures due to their stronger base. Additionally, zirconia can be used to create high-definition crowns or bridges using CAD-CAM systems. Objective: To develop a comparative analysis zirconia crowns and porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns in the elaboration of fixed prostheses in the dental laboratory. Materials and Methods: Using the PRISMA method, a comparative table was used to analyze information from indexed journals with a high publication quartile. Results: From the total results found in the database, 10 articles that met the inclusion criteria were selected, which helped to better analyze the importance and benefits of porcelain and zirconium metal crowns. Conclusions: Porcelain and zirconium metal crowns each have their own advantages and disadvantages. However, in most cases, zirconium crowns stand out as the best choice because they offer good results, are up to 50% stronger and do not cause discomfort when eating very cold or hot foods, which makes them more valuable than porcelain metal crowns.
