Yhteenveto:This research’s main objective was to develop supportive strategies in the rehabilitation of psychotropic substance consumption in patients hospitalized in the institution “Caminos de Fe”. For this purpose a quantitative research paradigm was used, in addition to the action, bibliographic, field and exploratory types of research; similarly, the analytic-synthetic, inductive-deductive, and historic-logic methods were applied; the technique used was the survey, whose most relevant results showed that 74% of hospitalized patients used to consume psychotropic substances daily which demonstrate a high prevalence of habitual consumption patterns, furthermore the frequency of consumption is closely related to the risk of developing dependence and addiction; also 30% claimed to have consumed these substances for more than one year so this exposure is higher to their toxic effects thus increasing the risk to develop health complications in the long term. Likewise, another relevant piece of information was that 69% have been diagnosed with diseases related to the consumption of substances, so in addition to their addictions, they could also develop other types of diseases such as cardiac, lung, hepatic and kidney diseases; 89% of the hospitalized patients considered that it is important to implement strategies from a nurse care approach considering physical dimensions, as well as psychological and social. These results allowed the development of the proposal for support strategies so that the studied population had psychological tools that allowed them to strengthen their coping abilities, promoting a healthy lifestyle, independence, resilience, and the promotion of long-term sustainable rehabilitation.
