| Sumari: | Although it is true that the premature neonate requires continuous care and follow - up, especially in the first month of life. Besides, it is essential to consider that parents are the main actors in the life and care of their child and they should be involved in activities so that they can create a fraternal bond with the premature newborn. Therefore, the present research aims to develop strategies for parental involvement in the care and adaptation of the hospitalized preterm infant. Thus, the methodology used was descriptive, with a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative), since, on the one hand, an objective analysis focused on the importance of parental involvement in the care and adaptation required by the preterm newborn was included. On the other hand, numerical analysis, statistical graphs and frequency tables are included which present relevant data on the importance of parental involvement in the care and adaptation of the newborn. The results obtained showed that 50% are unaware of some preterm newborn care such as: kangaroo plan, non - nutritive sucking and management of oxygen therapy at home. All parents will be willing to apply bonding strategies for the care and adaptation of the newborn, in order to create solid bonds with their children from their first days of life. Finally, it is concluded that it is important to implement timely strategies to provide comprehensive care to the premature newborn. |
