Introduction: The biomimetic layering technique for composite resin restorations is an innovative approach in the field of restorative dentistry that seeks to accurately mimic natural tooth structure and aesthetics. Objective: To compare the fracture resistance and durability of composite resin restorations using the biomimetic layering technique and the conventional technique. Materials and methods: This research was based on a systematic review in which a series of detailed procedures were carried out to meet the stated objectives, such as a search for articles in PubMed, BVS, Dialnet. Observation sheets are useful tools for recording and organising information obtained through the observation of phenomena, behaviours or situations. Results: Ten significant articles were selected after a thorough review and assessment, ensuring compliance with the predefined inclusion criteria for a rigorous and comprehensive literature review. The findings indicate that the biomimetic layering technique can offer good fracture resistance in composite resin restorations. It was observed that this technique could be effective in improving the stability and durability of restorations, which is promising for clinical application. Conclusions: It can be stated that both biomimetic and conventional layering techniques can be effective in achieving quality, fracture-resistant composite resin restorations. The choice between the two techniques may depend on the preferences of the practitioner and the specific needs of the patient.
