Shrnutí:The article analyzed the social-legal impact of the electrical energy crisis on the legal system in Tulcan, demonstrating how the interruptions in the electrical supply affected significantly the normal development of court hearings and judicial processes. The research was developed with a quantitative approach, non-experimental and transversal, applying a comprehensive documentary analysis of the regulatory framework, study cases and interviews to judges and official workers, complemented with 50 surveys to legal professionals. The discussion was focused on how these interruptions violated fundamental rights, such as the due process and the right to legal protection impaired; in addition, it exposed the ineffectiveness of the adopted measures such as the use of energy generators and the constant rescheduling of processes, which could not decrease the considerable backlog of cases and the delays in the judicial proceedings.
