Therefore, this study aims to determine the incidence of hypoalbuminemia in the severity of postoperative complications in elder people through a systematic review of scientific literature, which was developed using a qualitative approach through a non-experimental design and an exploratory study. Additionally, the theoretical method employed the analytical-synthetic method, allowing the study of each part’s behavior through critical reading and analysis of each actor’s perspectives, resulting in the identification of hypoalbuminemia as a predisposing factor for postoperative complications such as infection, admission to intensive care units, mechanical ventilation, septic shock, hemorrhages, respiratory, urinary, and endocrine-metabolic complications. |
