סיכום: | The prevention of nosocomial infections in post - trauma patients is a key challenge in healthcare. This study aims to evaluate the actions of nursing staff in the prevention of nosocomial infections in patients undergoing surgery in Ecuador. A systematic review was conducted, using bibliographic reviews such as Scopus, Cochrane Library and Cielo, following the PRISMA methodology (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta - Analyses), guaranteeing the quality and transparency of the studies analyzed. Theoretical methods such as inductive - deductive to build generalizations from specific observations, analytic - synthetic to decompose and synthesize information on preventive practices and a systems approach, addressing the complexity of the surgical environment, were employed. In addition, effective strategies such as rigorous adherence to aseptic techniques, continuous education of healthcare staff and the correct use of personal protective equipment were identified. The review underlined the importance of following sterilization protocols, performing adequate hand washing, maintaining control of the surgical environment and continuously monitoring the condition of the patient as well as interdisciplinary collaboration which was highlighted as an essential aspect of infection prevention. The results underlined the importance of constant training of surgical nurses and adherence to international guidelines which are fundamental to reduce the incidence of nosocomial infections in post - trauma patients. Finally, it is concluded that the preventive management of the surgical nurse is crucial to minimize infections and highlighted the need to continue exploring innovative technologies to improve infection prevention and control. |
