| Summary: | Background: Humanized care today is defined by its timely, efficient, and continuous service, with the aim of satisfying the internal user and their families; empathetic communication is essential to ensure proper supervision and management of the patient. Due to the importance, the objective of the research was to identify the elements that affect the satisfaction of patients and family caregivers in the intensive care unit. Methods: This work corresponds to a qualitative investigation. Finally, the research method that was used in this article is documentary analysis of articles and journals, indexed published in the database registered as Dialnet, Pubmed, Scielo, Redalyc, Lilacs, Clinical, Medline plus, Elsevier, among others. Results: It was found that the triggering factors are the proximity of your loved one, comfort to the family, support to the family, information to the family and security. On a measurement scale such as: satisfaction with patient and family care (α = 0.82), satisfaction with communication (α = 0.91) and satisfaction with decision-making (α = 0.71). It is noticeable that the outstanding element in satisfaction is communication. Conclusions: On satisfaction focuses on three key elements: the need for security, information, and proximity. Despite the fact that more than 75% of nurses consider these aspects to be transcendental, reality reveals that a proportion of family members distinguishes a meagre orientation in communication by the medical team. |
