সংক্ষিপ্ত:Currently, the central venous catheter is a widely used device in the hospital setting, this invasive procedure, requires a surgical environment for placement and subsequent aseptic and antiseptic interventions for maintenance and management, which is the responsibility of the nursing professional staff. Objective: To describe the nursing interventions in the care of patients with a central venous catheter through a systematic review study. Methodology: A systematic review was conducted to synthesize and summarize scientific evidence through exhaustive searches in relevant research databases. Results: It is evident that inadequate management and unimplemented interventions in the care of patients with a central venous catheter, being an invasive procedure with access to the bloodstream, can cause significant complications such as bloodstream infections and even patient death. This highlights the importance of applying nursing interventions for the proper care and management of patients with a central venous catheter. Conclusions: Nowadays, the placement of a central venous catheter has become a technique that facilitates the management of in-hospital patients. To address potential complications post-insertion, nursing plays a crucial role as they are responsible for the handling and maintenance of these devices.
